An Féile Brian Ború
is an annual five day event held to keep alive the name of Irelands
greatest high king in his native place. The committee aim to provide
an exciting and varied programme of events, with something to
suit everyone. Step back in time to Viking Ireland by visiting
our open air Viking village market and street Pageant, learn about
the history of Killaloe, Co Clare and Ballina, Co Tipperary by
taking part in our guided walking tours and historical boat trips,
or come and join in the fun with many other events, including
acts and culture, music, song and entertainment; children events
and many water and sporting events. Participation in our events
is greatly encouraged most of which are free of charge.

Triathlon
The Brian Boru Tri-Challenge

The annual Brian Ború Triathlon Challenge
invites you to take up the gauntlet on the most scenic and unique
triathlon course based on the shores of Lough Derg at Killaloe,
Co.Clare. Swimmers will take their marks on the lakeshore at the
Twomilegate one of Ireland's premier Blue Flag amenity areas.
On completion of the open water 750 metre
swim, competitors will then race over a 22 km cycle course on
the most scenic roads overlooking Lough Derg passing by the Brian
Ború oak tree and St Cronans 10th century church, and looping
around the East Clare Memorial Park at Tuamgraney before returning
through the picturesque village of Ogonnelloe.The challenge doesn't
end there, on completion of the cycle, a 5km run still awaits
any would be Árd Rí.
The run will take place on the steep slopes
of the peaceful forest at Ballycuggeran with its many magnificent
viewing points. Having surmounted these challenges, first over
the line will be ceremoniously crowned “Árd Rí
2010” on the ancient site of Kincora the seat of Brian Ború
Killaloe and Irelands last high king.

The Inland Waterways Regional
Heat of the Yachtsman Euromarine National RIB Challenge in association
with the ISA to encourage best knowledge and practice when operating
Powerboats.
Junior: Age 12 and over to
age 16 and under. All competitors should have had their 12th birthday
before entering the competition and must not have had their 17th
Birthday before the National Final.
Senior: Age 16 and over. All competitors
should have had their 16th birthday before entering the competition
1st place in Junior &
Senior Classes advance to National Final
